Master of architecture candidate student at Wentworth
Instituted of technology, Than Dendoung, in his thesis, “Meditation
through Architecture” suggests architecture responses to
meditation; a place to enhance the activity and perceive that
state of mind of the meditators. He supports his thesis by
studying the quality of light, space, materials and urban context
of architecture. Dendoung’s purpose is to create a place where
people can have a quiet place to go and meditate and reflect on
themselves, due to the daily life in the city that can be stressful.
Meditation is one of the simplest ways to help reduce that
stress. The author wrote in formal academic thesis for anyone
interested in the subject.
